Singapore has limited land supply for water catchment areas.But we have managed to collect rainwater,from Singapore's land.This will soon increase the water supply by the year 2009 with the two reservoirs schemes completed.(Marina Barrage and Pungol Serangoon)
*Marina Barrage -The marina barrage is a dam built across the marina channel.It works as a tidal barrier that stop high tides and flooding low-land areas,while at the same creating a fresh water reservoirs.This creative 3-in-1 project provides three main points: Water supply,Food Control and a Modern Lifestyle Attraction.
*Punggol Serangoon -The reservoir is currently being built between Punggol and Lor Halus.The construction works will begin on 22nd July at Coney Island.
